Emmanuel "Manny" Dapidran Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978, in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines. Manny Pacquiao is the fourth son, among six siblings of Rosalio Pacquiao and Dionesia Dapidran-Pacquiao. Pacquiao is a Filipino professional boxer and a politician. He is married to Maria Geraldine "Jinkee" Jamora, and they are having four children. He is also a military reservist with the rank of Sergeant Major for the 15th Ready Reserve Division of the Philippine Army. Pacquiao is commonly known as Pac-Man, The Destroyer, Fighting Pride of the Philippines, The Mexicutioner, The People's Champ, Pambansang Kamao (National Fist), and The Fighting congressman. Manny Pacquiao has completed his elementary education at Saavedra Saway Elementary School in General Santos City, but he dropped out of high school due to extreme poverty. He left his home when he was only 14yrs old because his mother, who already had six children, was not making enough money to support the family. But in February 2007 pacquiao took, and passed, a high school equivalency exam to make himself eligible for college education. In 1995, the death of an aspiring boxer and pacquiao's close friend Eugene Barutag spurred the young Manny Pacquiao to pursue a professional boxing career. He started his professional boxing career when he was just 16 years old, stood at 4'11'', and weighed just 98 pounds which was 7 pounds under the minimumweight division. But now,Manny Pacquiao is the first eight-division world champion; who has won six world titles, as well as, he is the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes. Pacquiao was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). He also won three-times The Ring and BWAA "Fighter of the Year",award in 2006, 2008, and 2009.
