Will 'Rockstar' rock the audience

Ranbir kapoor's upcoming movie 'Rockstar' is going to release on 11th of this month. He has huge expectations with this movie. Rockstar is Hindi musical film ,which is directed by Imtiaz Ali, starring Ranbir Kapoor and debutant Nargis Fakhri, and the music composed by A. R. Rahman. Eros International Ltd. and Shriee Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. are the two producers . Shammi Kapoor is going to make his last silver screen appearance in this film.

STORY:

Janardan (Ranbir Kapoor) was born and brought up in the middle class locality of Pitampura in Delhi, but has larger than life dream - of becoming a rockstar like Jim Morrison! But all that he gets from his audience is ridicule and humiliation. He then realizes that all musical stars; allmost all artists in fact, have one thing in common. And that thing is tragedy. All of them have tragic lives. They all must have suffered from painful heartbreaks to become what they are. Alas, there was no pain in his life - his life was an oasis of peace. Unless and untill he does something drastic, he will never be able to become a Rockstar. Heer Kaul(Nargis Fakhri) is the undisputed diva of the college campus -she is beautiful, talented, arrogant, rich, and unavailable for everyone. She has already broken many hearts. . Janardan prays she will break his heart too. He sets out to impress Heer with the main object of getting his heart broken. Rockstar is mainly the journey of a boy - who leaves behind Janardan to become Jordan; who has faced the highs and lows of life - from simple naivete to tortured soul, from the pleasure of unaffected friendship to the grief of unrequited love, from the college campus in Delhi to the international stage… He finally gets all what his heart has ever desired… but this process shatters his heart forever...

CHARACTERS:

Ustad Jameel Khan(Shammi Kapoor)

Shammi Kapoor makes his farewell appearance as the wise Ustad who is the first to recognize Janardan's formidable talent ,which cannot be caged; Jonardan needs to be set free as a musician to invent and explore his own music.

Sheena(Aditi Rao Hydari)

She plays the role of the journalist who has followed and chronicled Jordan's graph from struggling artist to Rockstar. She thinks that she knows Jonardan the best, but she hasn't even come anywhere close to understand the demons that drive him on and on.

Khatana(Kumiud Mishra)

He plays the role of the college canteen manager,who is the only friend Janardan can bare his soul to. He's the only friend who gives Janardan unconditional support through good times and bad times.

Dhingra(Piyush Mishra)

He is the owner of Platinum Music Company . He is a shrewd and astute businessman. Rather than nurturing talent, Dhingra prefers to misuse it to maximize the profits.

Neena Kaul(Shernaz Patel)

Neena Kaul is the mother of Heer Kaul, who wants nothing but the best for her daughter and tries to understand the special bond between Heer and Janardan.

SOUNDTRACK:

The music of this film is composed by A. R. Rahman. The soundtrack has 14 tracks overall, with all lyrics written by Irshad Kamil. Mohit Chauhan has given his voice for nine songs. The audio rights of 'Rockstar' were bought by T-Series. As A.R Rahman says, Rockstar is "a character driven film and as one can guess from the title, there will be lots of guitar". Rockstar can be called a musical journey of Jonardan that sails through classical rock, ballads, the sufi music, the Gujarati folk, and a gypsy note from an unheard Czech tradition.

GURU NANAK DEV JI

 

On this very occasion of Guru Nanak ji's birthday, let’s get to know some interesting facts about this great Sikh guru. Guru Nanak Dev ji was born in Talwandi, in 1469,in a village in Sheikhupura district which is 65 kms from west of Lahore. Guru Ji's father used to work as the village official in the local revenue administration. From childhood only, Sri Guru Nanak learnt, learnt the regional languages as well as Persian and Arabic languages. He got married in 1487 and had two sons; one was born in 1491 and the second one in 1496. In 1485 he took up, as his brother-in-law insists, the appointment of an official in charge of Daulat Khan Lodhi's stores, who was the Muslim ruler of the areay at Sultanpur. It was the time when he came into contact with Mardana, who was a Muslim minstrel (Mirasi) who was senior in age, from Guru Nanak Ji. According to the facts, 1496 was the year of Guru Nanak's enlightenment, the time when he started on his mission. The first statement, he gave, after his prophetic communion with God was that, “There is no Hindu, nor any Mussalman." He declared his clear and primary interest not at all in any metaphysical doctrine but only in man and his fate, which means to love your neighbor as yourself. Guru forcefully preached, by both precept and practice, against caste discrimination ritualism, idol worshiping and the pseudo-religious beliefs that does not have any spiritual content. He himself chose to mix with all. He used to dine and lived with people of the lowest castes and classes. Guru Dev’s first companion, on his tour to all the religious places in the world, was low caste Muslim. The food surplus they receive was given to the common kitchen where people can dine together without any discrimination. This system of common dining and feeding poor later came to be known as 'lunger'. When Guru Nanak ji was only 12 yrs old, his father gave him 20Rs to commence some business, but guruji spend the whole money in feeding saints and poor. When his father asked him about this, he called his task ' true business'. The place where he fed poor is now known as “Sachcha sauda". One incident states that he preferred to dine with a low caste artisan, Bhai Lallo, instead of a high caste rich landlord, Malik Bhago, because the landlord lived by exploitation of the poor and the artisan earned his bread by the sweat of his brow.Sri Guru Nanak showed this, by pressing in one hand the coarse loaf of bread from Lallo's house and in the other the food from Bhago's house. Milk came forth from the loaf of Lallo's and blood from that of Bhago's food.  Sri Guru Nanak ji spent twenty five years, preaching from place to place. Many of guruji's hymns were composed during this period of time. They represent answers to the main religious and social problems of the society and cogent responses to the situations and incidents that he came across in his life. He also studied other religions deeply. Finally, after completion of his tours, guruji settled as a peasant farmer at Kartarpur, a village which wad in the Punjab. Bhai Gurdas, who was the scribe of Guru Granth Sahib, was the devout and the close associate of the third as well as the three subsequent Gurus. Bhai Gurdas was born 12 years after Guru Nanak's death and he joined the Sikh mission in his very boyhood. Gurdas became the chief missionary agent of all the Gurus. As he was having the intimate knowledge of the Sikh society and has always been near contemporary of Sri Guru Nanak, his writings are historically reliable and authentic.
             These incidents have been depicted by a symbolic representation of the reason for Guru Nanak Ji's preferences. And his entire life act as an inspiration for the whole mankind, which we, all human beings should strictly follow.

SMOKIN' JOE

7th of Nov, 2011 emerged as a shocking day for all the boxing lovers, Joe Frazier is no more. Joe Frazier commonly known as "Smokin' Joe", was born on January 12, 1944 Beaufort, South Carolina, USA. His birth name was Joseph William Frazier. Joe Frazier was born in the house of Rubin and Dolly Frazier in the town of Laurel Bay, Beaufort, South Carolina. Joe Frazier was great Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight boxing champion, who started his professional career in 1965 and his career ended in 1976,he fought his  comeback fight in 1981. Frazier was one of the top contender during the late 1960s, he defeated the opponents that consist of Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, , Eddie Machen, Doug Jones, George Chuvalo and Jimmy Ellis  to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion in 1970, and he also defeated Muhammad Ali in the "Fight of Century" in 1971.But two years later Frazier lost his title when he was defeated by George Foreman. He fought again with the spirit of beating Joe Bugner, he lose a rematch against Ali, but beat Quarry and Ellis. Joe Frazier's last challenge came in 1975, but unfortunately he was beaten again by Ali in their brutal rubber match. He then retired in 1976 after a second loss to Foreman. But Joe made a comeback fight in 1981; he wanted to fight just once, before retiring for good, from boxing. The International Boxing Research Organization (IBRO) rates Frazier in the category of the ten greatest heavyweight’s champions of all time. Frazier was an inductee of both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame, who made America proud on himself. Joe used to down his opponents with relentless pressure. Frazer's best known punch was a powerful left hook, which was shown for most of his knockouts. After retiring, Joe Frazier made guest appearances in many Hollywood movies, and even in two episodes of The Simpsons. Frazier's son Marvis also became a boxer and was trained by Frazier himself, although Marvis was unable to reach his father's success. Frazier, after retirements continue to train fighters in his gym in Philadelphia. But his later years saw the unending bitter rivalry with Muhammad Ali, which created controversies. Joe fought Total 37 fights and won 32. He just losses 4 fights in his career and 1 fight was draw. This shows that Joe Frazier was a great boxer and remained the tough competition for all the other boxers, for whole of his life.
         Doctor diagnosed Frazier and declared liver cancer in late September 2011 and then Joe was admitted to hospice care. He then took his last breathe on November 7, 2011 when he was only67) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA .

Who doesn't want to be popular? In whatever field the person is, he wants him to be known by everyone. Even this publicity is catching the sight of the persons who show themselves as fair politicians, working on the base of morality and have earlier done many things for the betterment of the society. The recent example of this thirst of being popular is 'SWAMI AGNIVESH'. Agnivesh was born on September 21, 1939  is  Indian social worker, who gave himself the title' Arya Samaj scholar'. Swami Agnivesh is also a Hindu social activist, who is best recognized for his work against the bonded labor in the Bonded labor Liberation Front, which the swamiji had founded in 1981.  Agnivesh also became the president of the Arya Samaj. His earlier name was Shyam Vepa Rao , and he was born in Shakti, Chattisgarh. Swamiji received his degrees in Law as well as Economics in Kolkata. And work as a lecturer of business management in St. Xaviers College, in Kolkata itself. Swami Agnivesh founded the Arya Sabha, a political party, which is based upon principles of Arya Samaj ,in 1970.Agnivesh was appointed as a member of Legislative Assembly of Haryana in 1977, and work as a State minister for Education between 1979 to 1982. Swami Agnivesh was arrested two times, and has spend a total of 14 months in jail due to the charges of murder and subversion, from which he later got bail.
Swami Agnivesh also took part in the India against corruption protests in August 2011. But, he stepped out of it, claiming that rest of the protesters conspired and humiliated against him. After couple of days, a video, which shows Agnivesh talking to purported minister of India and asking him to act tough on the"adamant" protesters, was then circulated in the media and internet.  But Agnivesh denied the fact, saying its a trap against him, for spoiling his image. The main Questions were raised about the use of funds that were donated by public to the Team Anna together with Swami Agnivesh saying that the money was deposited in trust, that is run by Arvind Kejriwal by which the names of main team members were missing.Like Team Anna detractor Swami Agnivesh, another former member of the team, commonly known as ‘Waterman’ Rajinder Singh also raised the same issue asking Mr. Kejriwal to come clear the controversy regarding the donations to Anna's movement, by saying that he is not able to see any transparency in the matter like the Team Anna says. Team Anna refused the allegations; by saying Swami Agnivesh would be just leveling such accusations because of his anger. Swami Agnivesh was then removed from the Team due to the circulation of video tape, in which he asked govt. to act strictly with Anna's team. On Tuesday the Supreme Court showed its displeasure at Swami's reported remarks made in Jammu and Kashmir recently about the Amarnath that Yatra was a “fraud in  name of the religion.”Two-judge Bench of Justices H.L. Dattu and C.K. Prasad denied to quash the criminal complaint against the Swami Agnivesh in a trial court. But allowed him to file an affidavit and to post the matter for hearing on 14 November. MUMBAI: Swami Agnivesh may have taken on the Pope but he will now going to follow the orders of the Bigg Boss. He is the latest entry on the reality show. Swami Agnivesh claims that he's going to the house just to make the women, in the house aware of the "worse condition"of the girl in our society. He said that "The girls inside the big boss house doesn't seem to have any social responsibility regarding society," this 72-year-old activist told that “I want to make the girls realize, just how many girl children are killed in the before they are born and how many women are burnt alive in the name of old custom," he added.
Swami Agnivesh said he has to take on the task of getting into the house as a challenge and will teach them this lesson.
         It would be interesting to see, what new controversies he will create in the house of BIG BOSS.

Ekta kapoor is back with a bang with her new t.v series " Bade achhe lagte hain ". After making so many tragic serials , "Bade achhe......." would be a great attempt for Ekta . This show was premiered on May 30,2011 on sony tv.This serial begins with a middle class girl Priya Sharma (sakshi tanwar) and high class business tycoon Ram Kapoor (ram kapoor), who are in their mid 30s and still not married. They both were family oriented people,who were ready to sacrifice everything for their family. PRIYA was a happy girl who was in her early 30s, sacrificed her whole life ,just to support her father in giving proper life to her younger brother karthik and sister ayesha, who wants to be a model. and on the other side RAM was a wealthy man, who was in his late 30s, was completely different from Priya except one aspect, like Priya he was also ready to do anything for his step mother and brother and sisters. His family ,in return was just taking advantage of him ,trying him not to get married in his whole life, so that he can serve them like a slave for the rest of his life. But an accident changed the life of these two strangers, the inpact of the accident was less on their cars but more on their egos. And after sometime they came to know about the love between Ram's sister NATASHA  and Priya's brother KARTHIK. The circumstances which appears during the marriage of Karthik and Natasha , left these completely different personalities with no choice , except marrying each other , but their marriage was nothing more than a compromise. The serial is all about ,how Ram's family and other people try to create misunderstanding between Ram and Priya and how these misunderstandings bring them closer.

          WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT IN THE SERIAL- Attempt done by RAM'S brother siddharth , by appointing Priya's  past love  ASHWIN in the office ,will fail ,as Ram will show his full faith towards Priya, and which in turn will spoil Sid's plan for separating the couple The incident , instead of separating them , will bring them closer. A source tells that , the whole team of "Bade Achhe........" will shoot in Australia, the honeymoon sequence of Ram and Priya, which was earlier postponed . A source also says that the confusion regarding the new entry APEKSHA, who tried to obstruct Ram and Priya's marriage, will soon come to an end. Earlier it was was shown as if  Apeksha was Ram's ex-girlfriend but soon it will be revealed that she is Ram's cousin sister and the relation between them is little strained due to some past story . Vidhya Balan may also appear in the show for the promotion of her upcoming movie - "Dirty Picture"................
           Overall,  its a very cute drama series . Small and sweet conflicts between Ram and Priya are attracting the huge audience towards the serial . The role played by Ram's friend Vikram and his wife neha is also an important part  of the show and is really being appreciated by the audience. Hope, Ekta will continuously bring some gripping sequences in order to captivate the vieweres. And will never bring the serial to that " RONA DHONA" track, like rest of her serials. But for this serial, Ekta has done an appreciating work.

INDIA VS WEST INDIES

West Indies and India , meeting after about 4 months for the Test Series,  that took place in Carribean Islands. In that series India emerged as a winner. At that time India won  the Test series by 1-0 and the ODI series by 3-2 . But, in this interim period of time ,many things have changed a lot. Now, India is no more a no.1 team in Test matches, which Indian team was, at the time of this West Indies tour, 4 months ago. This series with West Indies is India's first test series after disastrous whitewash given by the  England. India seems to be really confident in this series , after defeating Bangladesh recently. Its a great opportunity for India to win the series , because the team is going to play in the conditions which suits them. Selectors are forced to select new players or the new young squad, in order to overcome the injuries and disasters that occur during the series in England. Certain changes have been made in the bowling attack, but the batting order will remain almost the same. With an upcoming Australian tour, Indian team has speed up with the pace attack and has taken Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron. At least one of them is definitely going to be picked to accompany Ishant Sharma. Selection of Ashwin Ravichandran in place of Harbhajan Singh shows  major change in the bowling  attack. Due to steady  growth of Ashwin Ravichandran he is likely to be partnered by left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha. The batting order of the team looks the same as ever Yuvraj Singh would be on the  6th position. Virat Kohli has shown tremendous performance in the past matches and we  may see him ahead of Yuvraj Singh.
FIRST DAY OF SERIES-on the first Test at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi on Sunday, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, West Indies batsman hit a century , making Indian spinners R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha helpless. Darren Sammy,West Indies captain, elected to bat ,which proved to be favorable for them . Openers of West Indies Kieran Powell and Kraigg Brathwaite plyayed off at an ease ,which forced M.S Dhoni to bring the spinners. West Indies were at  25 runs for no  loss in about  10 overs when the Powell was beaten by Ojha's spin.The visitors lost their first wicket on the ending of the 12th over when their score was about15. when the West Indies were on 45 runs Ojha came and get rid of Kirk Edwards. At lunch time West Indies stood at 69 for two wickets. In the third session the Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Brathwaite went to complete their 100-runs. But their partnership didn't go long. Brathwaite scored  63runs and West Indies were at180/4 post his fall. Later on R Ashwin helped in getting rid of Marlon Samuels. Chanderpaul made111runs and remained not out. Leaving first day of first test with West Indies finishing at 256runs for 5 wickets.....
SECOND DAY OF SERIES- on the second day West Indies stood at 304 all out and gaine the lead of overall 116 run lead in the first test in Delhi. Virender Sehwag made 55runs,Gautam Gambhir made 41 runs and Rahul Dravid made 54runs , act as notable scorers for the team India. India's start was  very solid as the openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir paerformed really well and put on 89 runs in 12.3 overs. When the Gambhir's was triggered , India lose 4 wickets, with one of Sachin. Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin dismissal only made the situation worse. This session  also belonged to the visitors.
